We joined the weekly walk from the village, organised by the Tourist Association, at 10:30am and took a circular walk to the Santa Nino chapel.
The group resting at Ermita Santa Nino - before the long climb back to the village
It was sunny at times with a chilly breeze. We sighted Siskin, Greenfinch, a couple of Hawfinches in flight, a Great spotted Woodpecker, a displaying Common Buzzard and a an impressive flock of 50+ Griffon Vultures (that's their number not their ages). Still plenty of Blackcaps about, also a few Black Redstart but we didn't see a Chiffchaff - winter migrants are reducing in numbers, a couple of House Martins overhead represented the incoming summer birds - spring is in the air.
My first orchid of the year was a Sombre Bee Orchid seen by all the group.
