A morning walk produced some interesting species - when I say morning it wasn't early we are talking 10 - 11am. It was sunny and warm with a light easterly.
Paul had reported Pied Flycatchers earlier in the week and sure enough I found some. In fact I had 10 sightings of probably 6-7 birds. There were also a few Spotted Flycatchers. A fig tree bearing lots of fruit held a flock of Spotless Starlings, several Blackcaps and a single Garden Warbler. a party of Red-rumped Swallows flew overhead with House Martins and a single Pallid Swift.
A Booted Eagle dived into the woods and a single Griffon Vulture drifted over. there were plenty of common species too, so despite the hot weather and the dry conditions life goes on.
